Bulletin: When Upset PoC "Wank"

The News Is:

Daily_Deviant has changed it's opinion and removed the term miscegenation.

I'm not trying to rain on WYCHWOOD's parade. Who, I believe is including some if not many links on the subject of Daily_Deviant @ Livejournal and miscegenation in August's Carnival. I look fwd to her commentary.

Liviapenn on LJ began compiling a list of links which prompted me to remember the Carnival has a Delicious.

I've put as many posts as I could find while not going out of my ever loving mind up on Del.ico.us.

You'll find it under the headers HPFandom and Racist Terminology

Daily_Deviant has left up their original reply up with one edit, which is a link to their new position.

I've saved the html of both pages.

I encourage everyone (all 27 of you) who feed this journal to encourage the mods of Daily_Deviant to apologise to Witchqueen for claiming she was slandering and defaming them. They've left comments open on their new admin post.

carnival pimping: If you have a delicious, please don't hesitate to use it to fwd links. Sometimes something might not be perfect for an issue, but fits just right for using the delicious to compile a list of links, old and new.

Thank You - Have Hosts

Monday, July 30, 2007

Thank you all for your prompt response. August has a host. Wychwood @ LJ; the still point of the turning world has kindly agreed to host our second issue.

Submission deadline: August 21st. Issue posted (hopefully): August 25th.

Please submit articles here. It's easiest if there's one known location for submissions.

September also has a host. Bellatrys @ LJ;
Nothing New Under The Sun
.

And there might quite possibly be a special issue "International Blog Against Racism Week" Carnival, courtesy of Oyceter.

Once again, thank you all. Though it would be nice to get October and November squared away (hint hint).

Would A Host For Issue #2 Please Stand Up

Saturday, July 28, 2007

The first PoC in SF Blog Carnival received an amazing amount of feedback. I was awed and grateful.

But now here I am at the end of the month, and I haven't found another host.

The person I thought was lined up to be the second host, hasn't responded to me and I'm not sure they even saw the Carnival was out. Two other people have offered, but I haven't heard back from them either. And the third person to offer is entangled in another project and signed up clearly asking for issue#3 or 4.

Where will I find a host for issue#2?

How hard do I have to ask?

Were people really excited?

Hosting involves looking for links, and receiving links sent to the carnival organizer site. It involves writing commentary for said links.

There is so much I've seen recently that bears mentioning. Things in HP fandom, in Dr. Who, in gaming... There are lists being made of PoC creators, interviews and articles.

We need this Carnival.

And I need help to keep it going.

PS: There's been some flutter from people who aren't of colour wondering if it's appropriate for them to host. The Carnival needs to stay alive. If the topics are of concern and interest to you and you're willing to devote time to put an issue out - then I don't see a problem.

Hosts

Monday, July 16, 2007

Given that The Angry Black Woman seems extra busy and not even near a computer at the moment - Are there any other takers to host the next PoC in SF Carnival?

Contact me please.

Issue #1

Thursday, July 12, 2007

It's short but hopefully sweet, after almost a month of offline/real life complications that delayed it, the first issue of The People of Color SF Carnivalis up at Seeking Avlon on LiveJournal.

It was now or never.

I'm hoping people are still excited about it.
